If Needed, You Will Receive Additional Information Material or further Recommendations.

Depending on the Situation, the Person Seeking Advice Receives Additional Material from the Counselor.

STEP 4

The First Consultation Takes Place.

Most EAP Counselors Offer Personal or Telephone Consultations. Online Counseling with Appropriate Tools is also Sometimes Possible.

STEP 5

If Necessary, further Support Will be Organized.

If Necessary, the Counselors Refer to Suitable Specialized Services or Therapeutic Offers. All Steps Remain Voluntary and are Individually Tailored to your Situation.

EAP Topics at a Glance

Within the framework of EAP counseling, a variety of professional, family, and personal topics can be addressed.

Interpersonal tensions at the workplace

Clients analyze stressful situations, reflect on the causes of tensions, sharpen the distinction between self-perception and external perception, work on solution and communication skills, and on dealing with emotions.
If tensions develop into stressful conflicts, xstanding supports with professional conflict mediation.

Unresolved issues with the manager

Clients are supported in identifying conflicts, clearly naming issues, and finding out what is needed to constructively resolve their concerns. They strengthen their solution and communication skills and reflect on the implementation of their solution approach.

Problems due to working conditions

Clients work out the key points of the problem, recognize where their sphere of influence lies in problem-solving, and come up with solution proposals that can be communicated to their team and/or management.

Time pressure and workload

Clients take stock, identify and name problem areas and room for maneuver, define their priorities, recognize their own areas of influence, and sharpen relevant skills (time and self-management).

Boundary violations or bullying

The counseling provides space for relief, supports in classifying what has been experienced, and prepares for further steps.

Career and further development

Clients prepare, for example, for an employee appraisal and reflect on topics such as appreciation, skills, responsibility, or the desire for change. They also clarify expectations for change, analyze the necessary competencies and resources, and develop next steps on the path. Career counseling

Return after a longer absence

Clients reflect on their changed role and work environment after a longer absence, become aware of their current priorities and resources, and find fresh goals and perspectives.

of various factors, especially with regard to residence and
work permits, recognition of diplomas, and compliance with Swiss
working conditions. The exact requirements depend on the nationality
of the employee and the purpose of their stay.
